“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:19-20
We held a special chapel for Maundy Thursday today. It was amazing to watch God move through the students as we talked about the story of Jesus’ life and death on the cross. It was wonderful to see them rejoice when we talked about how he defeated death by rising from the grave! The Bible tells us to have faith like a child and once again today I saw why God says that. It is so important to simply love. Children simply love. They love each other, they love you, they love nature, animals, flowers and even people they don’t know. They love things in a way that we don’t understand often as adults. They have an agape love for things that God created. Their loving ways are so contagious. I am blessed every day by their true and sincere love and by their heart felt compassion for people and things. Today we saw their love for God their Creator, along with the love they have for their Savior Jesus Christ. It is my hope and prayer that I can be childlike. That I can have a love for life, for people and nature the same way a child does. I hope and pray that I will see the world like a child and that I would willingly accept Christs gift for me on the cross the way so many of our children did today. We are so honored to walk with your child through life and walk beside you in the raising of these special kids. Have a blessed and happy Easter everyone.
